Weak construction and defective
Title says it all - this is both poorly designed and defective.First picture - I have highlighted in red the defective parts. This is supposed to be put together with 4 bolts and wing nuts with one bolt in each corner. The problem is that they didnt drill completely through one of the sides, making this impossible to assemble as delivered. You can see from the third picture that they drilled SOME of the hole but not all of it. Now I could punch it through and then carefully complete the hole because I happen to have the right tools to do that but most people dont have a drill press and free handing this is not advised.Thats not the only issue. The bolt needs a washer on each side to apply the pressure evenly on the soft wood. The bolt head is not big enough to spread out the pressure and will cut into the wood. If you are lucky it will cut in and get stuck, if you are unlucky it will continue turning and act like a very rough drill bit. Same thing on the wing nut side. The wing nut is going to apply pressure to just two points and because of the leverage of the wings will grind the wood without a washer there. Eventually this will make the board loose and it will lose its squareness. Further tightening will only make the problem worse. This is all the worse because in normal use those 4 fasteners are going to be stressed by pulling the yarn/thread through the pegs. They need to be tight but without washers the wood will be destroyed.Thats not the only issue with the bolt and wing nut. Because the bolt and wing nut extend past the edge of the wood they will be a hazard to the yarn/thread that you are using to weave with. Both will naturally catch on anything loose around them. They should have used a thru bolt that was flush on both ends or alternately used a design that had feet on the back side allowing the bolts to pass through on the back. The "make doo" fix would be to cover them in tape but you shouldn't have to do that.As designed and delivered, this product is defective. Not recommended.
